First cuts

I got one of the sabatons cut out last night and started doing a little simple shaping. The 410 seems to shape just like 4130. The thinner steel I got is 0.03, which is significantly thicker than the 0.025 I'd used on my previous sabatons. It should still work OK. It'll be more durable, a bit more forgiving on some of the shaping. It won't wobble and ripple like tin foil like the thinner stuff, and it will give some extra margin for sanding and polishing. I'm not wild about the extra weight though.

I have some scraps left over from the margins which I'll play with tonight to figure out how to heat treat this stuff. I'll also curl all the lames and start fitting them together. The real test is the ankle- will the roll crack? I'll find out tonight.
